Why volunteer training matters

Volunteer Training Programs help South of Perth Yacht Club members, parents and supporters gain the skills needed to assist with racing, regattas and on-water activities. Our volunteers play a vital role in delivering safe, successful and enjoyable sailing events.

No previous experience is required for most roles - the courses below are the qualifications that open them up.

Volunteer Opportunities

Training is available for a range of roles across the Club’s racing and events programme:

  • Safety and support boats
  • On-water rescue
  • Mark laying
  • Race management
  • Event operations

Not sure which suits you? Contact the On Water Group at owg@sopyc.com.au and we will point you to the right course.
