Marina Safety Compliance
MSC self-inspection guide & form
Marina Safety Compliance (MSC) Inspection
To maintain a safe and compliant marina, all vessels berthed at South of Perth Yacht Club must complete an MSC (Marina Safety Compliance) Inspection.
How the Inspection Process Works
1. Review the Requirements
Download and read the SoPYC Marina, Pens & Moorings Regulations. Ensure your vessel complies with all requirements before booking an inspection.
If you are unsure about any item, contact an MSC Inspector for guidance and rectify any non-compliance before inspection.
2. Complete the Online Self-Inspection Form
Submit the online MSC form, including vessel, fuel, electrical and safety equipment details.
3. Schedule Your Inspection
An MSC Inspector will contact you to arrange an inspection appointment.
4. Vessel Inspection
Meet the MSC Inspector at your vessel. Inspections typically take 15-30 minutes.
Once approved, you will receive an MSC Compliance Sticker showing your next inspection date. The sticker must be displayed:
Water pens: Port side near the DoT registration sticker.
Trailer-stored vessels: Starboard side of the trailer.
Before you start
Read the regulations in full before completing the self-inspection form.

Important Information
An MSC Sticker confirms that your vessel meets SoPYC Marina Safety Compliance requirements only. It does not certify seaworthiness or indicate that the vessel is safe for operation in protected or offshore waters.
If a vessel fails inspection, the owner may be required to rectify identified issues and arrange a re-inspection within a specified timeframe. In serious cases, the vessel may be required to leave the marina until compliance is achieved.
By submitting the inspection form, you acknowledge and accept these conditions.
Submit the online MSC form
Complete the online MSC form, including vessel, fuel, electrical and safety equipment details. An MSC Inspector will then contact you to arrange an inspection appointment.
If you are unsure about any item, contact an MSC Inspector for guidance and rectify any non-compliance before inspection.
