Sailability at SoPYC

Sailability @ South of Perth Yacht Club is a volunteer-led sailing program providing safe, accessible and inclusive sailing experiences for people living with disability, regardless of age, mobility or experience.

Operating on the protected waters of the Swan River, the program uses a variety of vessels, from stable training dinghies to larger keelboats, supported by experienced volunteers and safety boats.

Sailing Sessions

Season 15 October 2026 – 27 May 2027
When Wednesdays, 10:00am – 12:00pm
Christmas Break 16 December 2026 – 6 January 2027

Volunteers Needed

Sailability relies on dedicated volunteers to deliver life-changing experiences on the water.

Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Dinghy and yacht skippers
  • Crew members
  • Safety boat operators
  • Rigging and launch assistants
  • Meet & greet volunteers
  • Shoreside support roles

No sailing experience is required for many shore-based positions, and training is provided.
